Freebie Five

Dooce tackles a subject today that I often think about. She refers to it as the 'Five Fame Fuckers List', and not to take anything away from the great and mighty Dooce I prefer my favorite gossip blogger Lainey's term: 'The Freebie Five'.

Lainey has done this list for years now, she has a little sidebar section for it and her list is ever changing. (She's also smart, witty, hilarious, very chic and posh and everything I like in a gossip blog. That's why she wins. So I read her and you should too, I swear you'll enjoy.)

Anyways, the premise of a 'Freebie Five' is kind of rooted in a stable relationship, the five people you'd be allowed to fuck if given the opportunity...free of consequences. But since I'm not in a relationship I like to call this 'The Five People I'd Do Tomorrow JUST BECAUSE I CAN' List.

1. Michael Phelps (Lainey and Dooce have Michael on their list, as I suspect many women do right now. Michael's going to be a busy boy is all I'm saying.)
2. Prince Harry
3. George Clooney
4. Billy Bob Thornton
5. David Beckham

Michael is an obvious choice. I understand some take offense with the mouth or ears, but I find him completely charming. And I'm totally turned on by ambition and success. Sad. But true.

Prince Harry. Oh come on. Eye candy. And money. And royalty. (Wait, I'm sensing a theme here.)

George Clooney. Beautiful. Charming. Dark and handsome. Love. Oh, and it would have to take place at the Lake Como Villa. Just saying.

Billy Bob Thornton. (What!?) I know. But he's sexy. Dirty. And sexy. I swear.

David Beckham. It's the tattoos. And accent. (Also successful, ambitious...hmm...should I psychoanalyze this or let it go?)

Now for the respectable part of this post that doesn't involve sex.

Last night I went on a bit of a nature walk behind our house. (A little set up for those unaware, the house backs up to a farm and woods and is very 'country' in some respects.) Of course halfway through my camera battery went dead and I ran out of memory on my SD card. But here are a few of my favorite shots before all went to hell.

So, who's on your 'Freebie Five'?

Mad with Power

I'm zapped. But a new post needs to be up. Not that I don't love Molly, but I'm tired of seeing her at the top of the page.
  • Finally exploded in a fit of hormonal rage that had been building for a week. Was surprisingly not as bad as in the past: St. John's Wort to thank maybe?
  • Emailed someone I really used to care for, he actually emailed me back. Friends perhaps? Full circle moment for sure.
  • Decided against buying the dSLR, for now at least. I'll revisit the idea in the fall after a few months of working again. But, it was definitely a more complicated purchase than I thought and I felt I was rushing it too much in the name of vacation. My camera will suffice for now.
  • Worked out plans to redesign "my" room after vacation. I'm going to make it multifunctional so it transitions to Mom's craft room when I leave the nest. Am almost too excited about working out the plan and picking up paint samples and such.
  • Bought all of the supplies to bake a cheesecake this weekend. Holy crap, when did cream cheese start costing an arm and a leg??
  • 12 Days. That's all.
  • Made a to-do list. Have about a zillion things on it that all need to be worked out this weekend.
  • Bought an ASUS EEE PC. Will definitely put up a review when it gets here. But I'm initially super geeked about it. I love the idea of a mini laptop that I can throw in my purse and go with.
  • Made plans to yardsale in the morning, which if you know me and my history of poor yardsale skills then you'd realize this is laughable. But one of them is going to have a luggage carrier tomorrow and we could use one.
  • Had an hour long conversation about what you do at a wedding reception with no alcohol or dancing. Seriously...what do you do???
  • Nearly fainted at the following headline: CLAY AIKEN IMPREGNATES A WOMAN.
  • Then laughed at the structure of said headline. "Clay Aiken To Be Father". Nope, more shocking that he impregnated a woman.
  • Spent 2 hours of my life watching Lucky 7 on Lifetime. Could say many things, but will stick with this: Patrick Dempsey IS dreamy...end of story.
  • And I'll end with this: Chris Brown and Rihanna are freaking adorable. Like, seriously. And I'm not embarrassed to admit that.

P.S. Sex and the City...THIS WEEKEND. If you saw, don't tell me. But I really hope I can squeeze in a couple hours at a theater before the weekend's up.

Links I Found Interesting

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20191142,00.html

Are we perhaps implying, People, that Lindsay Lohan is bisexual and pursuing a relationship with openly gay Samantha Ronson? Hmm, are we People? Cause I can't find a purpose in this article otherwise.

I'm not even going to lie. Riding around in my car alone, my guilty pleasure is rocking out to Miley Cyrus. Yep. This video from her Miley and Mandy show? Made my day. Like, how awesome would it have been to be 15 and make a full on production to spoof a Madonna video? AND have Channing Tatum do the video with you? And make 18 million dollars last year?

Girlfriend is living the life.

Oh hai Britney! Remember the good ol' days when that was you?

Anglophilia

Princess Diana died August 31, 1997 when I was 11 years old. From the moment I watched it scroll across the bottom of my television screen, to the weekend I watched her funeral early in the morning from the floor of my bedroom I became a bit of an Anglophile. I read every single book about the royal family I could get my hands on, became fascinated with my English last name and loved anything British, which also enhanced my Spice Girls obsession.

I don't go to extremes like I did in my tween years, however I do still pick up any royal family book I come across. Even the ones I know will be bad. And I'll just admit right now, I have a slight obsession with Princes William and Harry.

Which is why I've been anxious all day, because tonight on ABC, 20/20 is doing a rare 2 hour profile on the British Royal Family. They've been documenting The Queen, Prince Charles, Camilla, William and Harry for the past year and it will supposedly offer a personal glimpse into their family and world.

Totally freaking out here.

Also totally a dork.

But for any other anglophiles like myself you've now been properly warned to set your tivos and such and watch the special tonight.

So, can we marvel at how beautiful Harry is? Even while in combat in Afghanistan? And how brilliant it was to stage a breakup with girlfriend Chelsy Davy so as to avoid rumors of his absence around her. Love it.

I've always thought a man in uniform is hot. But a man in uniform with a royal title? Positively smoking.

Then can we discuss how awesome it is that Victoria Beckham shops at Target? Triple love that one.

Just To Follow Up

We touched on this subject after one of the last awards shows. But here is Angelina Jolie tonight at the Independent Spirit Awards.

I would say she is definitely pregnant now. haha
